Making harassing phone calls constitutes a Class 2 misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of 60 days in jail. There are six different activities that can constitute harassing phone calls.

1) To use in telephone conversations words that are profane, vulgar, lewd, or lascivious in character, nature, or connotation

2) To use in telephone conversations words or language threatening to inflict injury to another person or that persons child, sibling, spouse, or to physically injure that persons property or to extort money

3) To call another person repeatedly for the purpose of abusing, harassing, annoying embarrassing, or terrifying any person at the number

4) To call another phone number and hang up or disengage the connection with the purpose of disrupting the phone service of another

5) To use a telephone to make false statements concerning death, injury, illness, indecent conduct, or criminal conduct of the person called or any member of his or her family with the intent to annoy, embarrass, harass, or terrify

6) To knowingly allow one to use his or her telephone to be used in any of the above mentioned ways
